3rd Street Promenade

If you’re looking for an iconic location that has great people watching, the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica is your spot! This location is always bustling with people who want to eat or shop at the many stores on this strip. There is also a secondary location on 6th street.

The California State Railroad Museum

The California State Railroad Museum in Oxnard is definitely my favorite location for street photography. It’s located in the heart of downtown and has lots of great architecture to shoot from. This location is a lot more quiet than your typical city and has a nice backdrop of the mountains.

Santa Monica Pier

The Santa Monica Pier is a great location for street photography because it’s not too busy and has a nice view of the ocean. I like to shoot at night when the lights are beautiful and the sunset is amazing. The pier also has a lot of vintage billboards that just make for great shots.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art

This location is another great spot to shoot street photography in LA. It’s located in downtown LA and there are always lots of people walking around. This location is also very busy in the morning. Just make sure to get there early to capture some shots of the sunrise.

Pasadena

Pasadena is a beautiful location for street photography because it has a nice feel. There are very few cars and you can walk around for hours taking pictures of all the architectural details. This location is especially gorgeous at night when the lights are on around the city.

Chinatown

If you’re looking for a great location to shoot street photography in Los Angeles, Chinatown is definitely a great spot! It has a lot of great architectural details that are sure to make for some amazing shots. Be sure to bring your wide-angle lens (14-24mm) if you don’t want to miss any of it. There are usually people walking around with their families and eating dinner at the Chinese restaurants in this area.
