Are you looking for a way to improve your photography game? I know that I am, and thankfully my best friend showed me these new flashes that he bought for his old DSLR camera. It’s called the Altura AP-N1001, and it is honestly one of the best things I have ever seen.
Not only does it give a much more professional look to your photos, but you can do so much with this flash that I couldn’t with my other third party flashes. Like adding different light modifiers on your flashes to create all kinds of different looks.
Who It’s For
This flash is great for anyone that wants to improve their photography. Whether you’re a professional looking for a good flash, or just a casual photographer looking to take better pictures. This is the perfect flash for you, and I will tell you why.
Altura AP-N1001 Features
·The built-in diffuser creates a soft, even light across your entire subject area.
·A comprehensive light modifier system allows you to create bi-color or color-wheel effects with three interchangeable detachable rings for creative illumination possibilities.
·Three auxiliary gobos are available for instant color changes and special effects through the use of your flash head.
·A 3.5mm focal length allows you to place your flash head directly behind the lens for creative lighting effects.
·The built-in TTL system with manual exposure control allows you to control your flash output in 1/10 increments from fully off to full power.
·The flash head tilt action gives flashes from the side of a camera and ensures that they are more even and consistent across the frame.
·USB recharging with flash data storage.
·Intelligent battery power indicator displays the remaining charge.
·Shutter and aperture buttons for easy operation.
·Flash head rotation allows accurate adjustment of the angle of your flash.
What We Love About It
Aside from the fact that this flash is crazy cheap, the thing that we love most about it is that it’s full of features. It comes with a built-in TTL system with manual exposure control, and three different light modifiers. Do you know how much all of those things would cost if you bought them separately? A lot!
We also like another thing about this flash, and that’s the power it has. It can go from 1/10 power all the way up to full power in increments of 1/10 of a stop. What this means is that we can get just the right amount of flash for every picture that we take.
What Could Be Improved
The first one is the fact that when you’re changing any of the light modifiers, you have to use your flash head in order to make adjustments.
The second thing that I don’t like is that when you’re using the option of changing off, red, or green filters it will stop flashing. I’m not sure why this happens, but it does happen a lot.
How It Performed In Our Tests
This flash is very powerful. It can go from full power all the way down to 1/10 of a stop. What that means is that it has the ability to give off enough light so that we don’t have to keep using all our lights when we want to take pictures. This is way better than using another flash, and I love it!
The diffuser on this flash also adds a nice touch to any picture. It makes our photos look so crisp and clean with just the right amount of light across our subject.
A few other things that we like about this flash is the fact that it has a 3.5mm focal length. This lets us place our flash head right behind the lens of our camera, and then we can aim it at whatever light source we want to use to get a better lighting effect on our photos.
The only two things that I would change about this flash would be making the diffuser more adjustable, and having more than one gobo included with it.
Bottom Line
We really like this flash, and it’s great for anyone that wants to improve their photography game. It’s really cheap, and it has a lot of features that are not included on anything but high-end flashes. We recommend it!
